Bourbon Glazed Sweet Potatoes


5 large Sweet Potatoes

1 stick of butter halved

1/8 cup molasses

1/8 cup dark corn syrup

1 ½ cup brown sugar halved



1/2 cup bourbon


Take the Sweet potatoes and place in a large pot and boil until they can be pierced with a fork, just make sure that they do not get mushy. After they are boiled cut them into slices and place into a casserole dish top with some salt to taste and set aside. In a skillet melt half of the butter and stir in the brown sugar, molasses, dark corn syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined. Remove from heat and stir in the bourbon and then pour over the sweet potatoes. Cut the remaining butter and place on the sweet potatoes and sprinkle the rest of the brown sugar over top and place into the oven at 325 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes.
